Clinical Study

Systemic Lupus Erythemtosus Research Study for Adults

Location

Principal Investigator
Dr Jessie Lee

The purpose of this research project is to assess the safety and efficacy of the investigational treatment when compared to a placebo for the treatment of signs and symptoms in adults with moderately to severely active lupus.

Investigational treatment

The investigational treatment is approved in Australia to treat multiple other inflammatory conditions. However, it is not approved to treat lupus. This means that it must be tested to see if it is an effective treatment for lupus.

What's involved

Your participation will last approximately 58 weeks and you will be required to come to our practice 16 times during that time. You will see thestudy doctor at each visit and then the research team for medical assessments.

There is no cost for the medication or study visits, and you will be compensated for your time and travel.

Eligibility

You may qualify if you:

  • Have had moderate to severe lupus for at least 24 weeks prior to joining the study.
  • Are an adult aged between 18 and 63 years old (inclusive)
  • Are currently taking a stable dose of lupus medication prior to joining the study.

Further eligibility criteria apply.
